The Gladstone Senior Center (303 North 8th Street) is three blocks north of the American Legion, which is at 802 Delta Avenue.  If you're coming from the highway, you'd take the Delta Avenue turn-off and go straight down Delta Avenue to 8th Street, turn left, and go three blocks.  Hope this helps!

Where abouts is the Senior Center? Is it by any business or down a side street?

General Discussion / Recommendation
« Last post by loisann on September 25, 2017, 07:46:46 am »
Most of the questions I will be asking in our class will be taken from an excellent book called "To Our Children's Children" by Bob Greene and D.G. Fulford.  It's a book full of questions and prompts that cover all different areas of our lives, and I highly recommend it for people writing their memoirs.  Used copies can be purchased for $3.65 postpaid from my favorite bookseller, abebooks.com.

General Discussion / Memoirs Class

Hi There!

Thanks for signing up for my memoir writing class.  I hope you will find it helpful!  It will run Tuesdays from 10:00 to 11:00 on October 3, 10, 17, and 24, and November 7, 14, 21, and 28.  Each week I will ask questions from different areas of your life (childhood, career, parenting, etc.) and you are encouraged to share stories aloud with the other members.  The funnier, the better!  I hope to get a lively discussion going with each session, and that hearing others' memories will help jog your own so that when you sit down to write, you will have loads of material.

This forum was created to take those discussions a bit further.  In between classes, you may think of other stories you wish to share with the group, and this is where you can do so.  Or you may have questions or suggestions for the class that can be posted here as well.  Who knows?  Maybe we'll keep this forum going even after the sessions have ended.   :)
